From Germany to Cambodia, Jamaica to the Philippines, I have played all over and trained under some of the best in the world. Record setting midfielder and center back, and national team player
Nico started playing soccer at the age of 5 at his local club in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and at the age of 10 he decided this is what he would do with his life. Under the guidance of his coach, Wayne Longmore, and the supervision of FIFA Order of Merit Recipient Winston Chung-Fah at Total Soccer Academy, Nico trained 3+ hours a day, 6 days a week, 50 weeks a year. After 3 years, Nico was accepted to Fussballschule Kantenwein in Germany, where he spent some time before coming back to the United States.
Upon coming back, he found a place on another local team under coach and Manchester City legend Neil McNab Sr., where he played two seasons. During this time, he continued to train with Total Soccer Academy, and when he was 15 he took a trip to the Philippines. He was invited to a tryout with Global FC, who was at the time the top club in the Philippines and fresh off a League Cup win. He was asked to come back as a designated training player, with game time for their youth team, Pilipinas Dragons FC.
Upon finishing the season with the club, and the inaugural season of the new top flight Philippines Football League coming, Nico found a new home with Ilocos United FC. He made his professional debut in May 2017, and set the record in the home opener against Davao Aguilas FC for youngest professional in the league. A record he still holds today. In October of that season, he was called to represent the Philippines at the U19 level for the AFC Qualifiers in Cambodia. He finished the year with 19 appearances and 9 starts in a 28 game season. He returned to the United States in December 2017.
After his focus shifted to theatre, his love for the game never died. In college, he spent a season with new team Princeton International FC as a center back. He competed in a statewide league including the preliminary rounds of the USSF league cup. He also spent the summer of 2022 coaching with DC United's summer program, and is still involved in the sport through guiding young players on their journeys.
Current record holder for youngest midfielder to play in top-flight league in the Philippines. Represented the Philippines U19 at AFC Qualifiers in Cambodia.
